~ For the young adults who have grown up with us
Still in its infancy, we are working to develop a program that targets the youth who have spent several years in our program and are currently growing into young adults. Like any normal teenager, as they get older, they no longer want to be associated with small children. They naturally want more freedom and more independence. Unfortunately, because of this, many of them choose to leave the program when they reach adolescence even though they would still greatly benefit from our services. And unfortunately, some of the adolescents who have left have run into some trouble once they no longer have the moral support from our staff or the stability of our daily programing. So to address this, we have begun holding groups with our current and former teens, on a less frequent basis, targeting their distinct needs as young adults.
