~ Our extended outreach program
Translated as “Help me Grow”, Ayudame a Crecer is our extended outreach program established in January 2010, to respond to the growing demand for alternative educational services in Camoapa. It is less intensive than HLDA and provides limited services to 50 more children within the community. In partnership with both the public schools and the local government, we provide these children with school supplies and uniforms, extra classroom attention, outreach to their families and food assistance if needed. Much like the children enrolled in HLDA, these children also receive tutoring and mentoring, assistance accessing health care, psychological services, recreational activities and Nicaraguan Folkloric Dance lessons. Our long-term goal is to expand this program so that more children can receive the same intensive services that we provide at Hogar Luceros del Amanecer.
